Salary Structure

Candidates selected as Local Bank Officers will receive an attractive salary under the JMGS-I Pay Scale.

Pay Scale

₹48,480 – 2,000(7) – ₹62,480 – 2,340(2) – ₹67,160 – 2,680(7) – ₹85,920

In addition to the basic pay, employees will also receive DA, HRA, medical benefits, leave, pension benefits, and other allowances as per Punjab National Bank rules.

Educational Qualification

PNB LBO Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

The recruitment process for the Local Bank Officer (LBO) post in Punjab National Bank will be carried out in four stages. Candidates must successfully qualify each stage to be considered for final appointment.

1. Online Written Examination

Eligible applicants will first appear for an online objective examination comprising five sections. The test pattern is as follows:

Marking Scheme

  • Each incorrect answer will attract a negative marking of 0.25 marks (one-fourth mark).
  • No deduction will be made for unanswered questions.
  • Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in each section:

    • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD): 35%

2. Application & Document Screening

Candidates qualifying in the online examination will undergo a detailed scrutiny of their application forms and supporting documents.

During this stage, Punjab National Bank will verify:

  • Maximum Marks: 50
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • General/OBC/EWS: 25 Marks (50%)
    • SC/ST: 22.50 Marks (45%)

The interview will assess candidates on their communication skills, banking knowledge, professional experience, personality, and overall suitability for the role of Local Bank Officer.


Final Merit List

The final selection of candidates will be based on their combined performance in the Online Written Examination and Personal Interview.

However, candidates must also:

  • Qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test (where applicable)
  • Successfully complete document verification
  • Fulfill all prescribed eligibility conditions
