Vacancy & Salary Structure
- Posts Included:Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical & Mechanical, Telecom) and Scientific Assistant in the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
- Job Classification:Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted).
- Pay Scale:Level-6 of the 7th CPC pay matrix (₹35,400 to ₹112,400).
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit (As on August 1, 2026):
- CPWD & Directorate General of Lighthouses & Lightships: Up to 32 years (born between 02.08.1994 and 01.08.2008).
- All Other Departments: Up to 30 years (born between 02.08.1996 and 01.08.2008).
- Age Relaxations: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, up to 15 years for PwBD categories, and standard relaxations for Ex-Servicemen.
- Educational Qualifications:A Bachelor’s Degree or a 3-year Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Telecom, or Computer Science Engineering from a recognized university or board, varying by the specific department.

Selection Procedure
- Paper-I (Computer-Based Test):Objective-type screening examination consisting of General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and the respective engineering discipline.
- Paper-II (Computer-Based Test):Advanced core technical assessment based on the selected engineering branch.
- Document Verification:Final verification conducted by the respective user department.
