The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has issued official notifications for the recruitment of 619 vacancies for the posts of Scientist ‘B’ and Scientific/Technical Assistant ‘A’. Eligible candidates who meet the required criteria can submit their applications through online mode.
1. Scientist ‘B’ (Group ‘A’, Gazetted)

Age Limit:
Maximum age should not exceed 30 years as on 31 March 2026
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess any of the following:
- B.E / B.Tech
- M.E / M.Tech
- M.Sc
- MCA
- M.Phil
- DOEACC ‘B’ Level
- AMIE or equivalent
Accepted disciplines include Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Communication, Cyber Security, Software Systems, Informatics, and related fields.
2. Scientific/Technical Assistant ‘A’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted)

- OBC (NCL): 101
- EWS: 37
- PwBD: 18
Salary:
Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400)
Educational Qualification:
Candidates should have completed:
- B.E / B.Tech / M.Sc / MS / MCA
Relevant fields include Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, IT, Networking, Software Systems, and related disciplines.
Other Eligibility Criteria
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD (General): 10 years
- PwD (OBC): 13 years
- PwD (SC/ST): 15 years
GATE Requirement:
Applicants must have a valid GATE score (2024 / 2025 / 2026) in:
- Computer Science & IT (CS)
- Electronics & Communication (EC)
- Data Science & AI (DA)
