Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Applicants should be born between 1 July 2005 and 1 January 2010 (inclusive). The upper age limit at the time of enrolment should not exceed 22 years.
Educational Qualification
Science Stream Candidates
Applicants must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and English securing at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English.
OR
Candidates possessing a three-year diploma in Engineering in disciplines such as:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics
- Automobile Engineering
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Instrumentation Technology
with minimum 50% marks are also eligible.
OR
Candidates who have completed a two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics can apply.
Other Than Science Stream
Candidates who have passed 10+2 in any stream with at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English are eligible.
Two-year vocational course holders from recognized boards are also eligible.
Medical Standards
Height Requirement
- Male: Minimum 152 cm
- Female: Minimum 152 cm
Candidates belonging to North-East states and hilly regions of Uttarakhand are eligible with a minimum height of 147 cm.
For Lakshadweep candidates, the minimum height is 150 cm.
Chest Measurement
Male Candidates
- Minimum chest circumference: 77 cm
- Expansion: At least 5 cm
Female Candidates
- Chest expansion should be at least 5 cm.
Other Physical Standards
- Weight should be proportionate to age and height.
- Normal hearing ability is mandatory.
- Healthy gums and minimum 14 dental points are required.
- Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
- Permanent tattoos are generally not allowed except in permitted areas and tribal customs.

Selection Process of Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2026
The selection procedure for Agniveer Vayu Intake 02/2027 consists of multiple stages including an Online Examination, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Tests, Medical Examination and final merit preparation.
Phase-I: Online Examination
Candidates who successfully submit their applications will be called for the online examination. Admit cards for Phase-I will be sent to the registered e-mail IDs of eligible candidates approximately 48 to 72 hours before the examination.
Applicants must report to the examination centre with:
- Colour printout of Admit Card
- Original Aadhaar Card
- One blue or black ballpoint pen
Details regarding exam city and date will be communicated in advance through the CASB portal.

Phase-II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Candidates who qualify in the online examination will be shortlisted for Phase-II. The list of qualified candidates will be published on the CASB portal. Selected candidates will be called to the designated Airmen Selection Centre (ASC) for Physical Fitness Test and Adaptability Test-II.
The Physical Fitness Test consists of two stages:
- PFT-I
- PFT-II
PFT-I: 1.6 Km Run
Candidates must complete a 1.6 km run within the prescribed time limit to qualify for the next stage.
