Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Applicants must be born between 1st July 2005 and 1st January 2010 (both dates inclusive).

Candidates selected for enrollment should not be more than 22 years of age at the time of joining.


Educational Qualification

Science Stream

Candidates should have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with:

  • Physics
  • Mathematics
  • English

with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English.

OR

Three-year Diploma in Engineering in disciplines such as:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Automobile
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Instrumentation Technology

with minimum 50% marks.

OR

Two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics along with the required percentage of marks.


Other Than Science Stream

Candidates must have passed:

  • 10+2 / Intermediate in any stream

OR

  • Two-year Vocational Course

with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English.


Medical Standards

Candidates must satisfy the medical requirements prescribed by the Indian Air Force.

Minimum Height

Male: 152 cm

Female: 152 cm

Special relaxation:

  • North-East & Uttarakhand Hill Areas: 147 cm
  • Lakshadweep Candidates: 150 cm

Chest Measurement

Male Candidates

  • Minimum Chest: 77 cm
  • Expansion: 5 cm

Female Candidates

  • Minimum chest expansion: 5 cm

Other Requirements

  • Weight should be proportionate to height and age.
  • Normal hearing ability.
  • Healthy gums and good dental health.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
  • Free from serious medical conditions.
  • Permanent tattoos are generally not allowed except in permitted areas as per official guidelines.

Female candidates found pregnant during medical examination will be declared ineligible.

Online Test of Agniveer Vayu Recruitment


Candidates who applied for Agniveer Vayu posts will have to appear in an Online Test. Provisional admit cards will be send to eligible candidates for Phase – I of testing on their registered e-mail IDs between 48-72 hrs prior to the examination. Candidates have to report on the stipulated date and time at the designated center along with colour print out of the Admit Card. Candidates are to bring one blue / black pen and original AADHAAR card along with them for Phase – I testing. Name of city & exam date will be intimated to candidates at an earlier date to enable them to plan their movement.

Type of questions: Objective type

Language of questions:
Bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper.

Marking pattern: One mark for every correct answer.

Negative marking:
0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Science Subjects

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Names of the shortlisted candidates, who qualify the online test, shall be displayed on the CASB Web Portal https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in and on a stipulated date shall be called at designated ASC for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Adaptability Test-II. PFT consists of two parts i.e. PFT-I and PFT-II.

PFT- I 

Candidates have to complete 1.6 Kms run as per the following timings to qualify for PFT-II:-
