About the Pragyan Bharati Scheme
The Pragyan Bharati Scheme was introduced by the Government of Assam to reward outstanding academic performance in the Higher Secondary Examination.
Initially, the scheme provided scooters only to meritorious girl students securing First Division. From 2025 onwards, the eligibility criteria were expanded, and now all students, regardless of gender, who obtain 80% or more marks in the HS Final Examination are eligible for the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award.

Distribution Process of Free Scooters
