The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has officially invited online applications for the Combined Competitive Examination (Main), 2025, conducted for the recruitment of 78 vacancies in various prestigious Assam Government Group-A services.

Only candidates who have qualified the APSC CCE Preliminary Examination 2025 are eligible to submit the online application for the Main Examination. The online application window will remain open from 4th August 2026 to 24th August 2026 (5:00 PM).

The APSC CCE is one of the most sought-after competitive examinations in Assam, offering recruitment to services such as Assam Civil Service, Assam Police Service, District Transport Officer, Superintendent of Excise, Assistant Employment Officer, Inspector of Labour, and several other administrative posts.

The Main Examination is scheduled to be held from 9th to 11th October 2026 at Guwahati.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from:

  • A university established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, or
  • A recognized institution declared as a deemed university under the UGC Act, 1956, or
  • Any other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government.

Candidates must have acquired the required qualification on or before the closing date of application.

Important: Only candidates who have successfully qualified the APSC CCE Preliminary Examination 2025 are eligible to apply for the Main Examination.

As on 1st January 2025, applicants should be:

APSC CCE Selection Process 2026

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) in multiple stages to recruit eligible candidates for various Group-A services under the Government of Assam.

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are shortlisted for the Main Examination based on merit. Generally, the number of candidates selected for the written examination is around 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies available in each category.

The Main Examination evaluates candidates through descriptive and limited objective-type papers.
