Educational Qualification
Applicants should have:
- A Ph.D. degree in Economics, Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Development Studies or a related discipline.

- At least 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic or research position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
- Experience should be in a University, College, accredited research institution or relevant industry.

- A minimum research score of 75 as prescribed under the applicable UGC criteria.

The Assistant Professor vacancies are associated with the Centre for Undergraduate Studies and School of Social Work.
A. Centre for Undergraduate Studies
Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in:
- Political Science
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Related subjects
The degree should be from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification from an accredited foreign university.
NET/SLET/SET Requirement
Applicants are generally required to have qualified:
- UGC NET
- CSIR NET
- SLET/SET or another UGC-accredited eligibility test
Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. under the applicable UGC regulations may be exempt from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to the prescribed conditions.

- Evaluation of the thesis by at least two external examiners

- Certification of fulfillment of these conditions by the concerned university authority
Ph.D. holders from foreign universities may also qualify for exemption where the degree meets the prescribed ranking and institutional requirements.

Candidates should have:
- A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Social Work.
- The degree should be from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification from an accredited foreign university.
- UGC NET, CSIR NET, SLET/SET or another recognized eligibility qualification, as applicable.
Eligible Ph.D. holders may receive exemption from NET/SLET/SET subject to the applicable UGC conditions.
Foreign Ph.D. qualifications may also be considered where they satisfy the prescribed recognition and ranking requirements.
