CSIR Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 100 Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Posts

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has published an official recruitment notification inviting online applications for 100 Assistant Section Officer (ASO) vacancies. These posts will be filled in different administrative categories.

Candidates who appeared in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 but were not recommended for final selection and whose names are available on the UPSC Pratibha Setu Portal are eligible to apply for these vacancies.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of the following stages:

Stage 1: Shortlisting

Applications will be shortlisted based on the combined marks obtained in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 (Mains + Personality Test). Candidates will be shortlisted approximately in the ratio of 1:5 against the available vacancies.

Stage 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) conducted by CSIR. Qualifying this test is mandatory.

Final Merit

The final selection will be prepared on the basis of:

  • UPSC CSE 2024 Marks (Mains + Personality Test)
  • Successful qualification in the Computer Proficiency Test
