Assam D.El.Ed Admission 2026: Merit List, Counselling & Document Verification
District-Wise Merit List & Stream Reservation Rules
The final merit list for admission into Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) across Assam is prepared strictly on a district-wise basis. Allotments are granted according to candidate scores, ranks, and seat availability within each district.
To ensure fair representation across disciplines, seats in every district TEI are divided by stream:
- Arts & Other Streams:70% of total intake capacity.
- Science Stream:30% of total intake capacity.
Note: Separate merit lists are published for (1) Science and (2) Arts & Other Streams in each district while strictly applying the state reservation policies.
Assam D.El.Ed Online Counselling Process 2026
Once the district-wise scores and ranks are released, candidates must participate in mandatory online counselling:
- Choice Filling: Candidates must log in to the official portal and select their preferred TEIs in order of priority.
- Seat Allotment: Institutes are allotted based on the candidate’s rank, stream, category, and preferred TEI availability.
Required Documents for Physical Verification
During physical document verification at the allotted institute, candidates must produce original copies along with self-attested photocopies of the following credentials:
- Age Proof: HSLC / Class 10 Admit Card or Pass Certificate.
- Academic Qualification: Pass Certificate and Mark Sheet of Higher Secondary (HS / 10+2) or equivalent.
- Residency Proof: Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) proving Assam domicile.
- Category Certificate (if applicable): Valid Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Special Category Certificates (if applicable): Valid PwD or EWS certificates from authorized officials.
- Self-Declaration Undertaking: A signed undertaking addressed to the TEI Principal confirming that the candidate is not enrolled in any other regular degree or diploma course alongside D.El.Ed.
